2018 Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive set for tomorrow

• Benefiting communities across West Texas

MIDLAND/ODESSA/BIG SPRING, TEXAS - The 26th Annual Stamp Out Hunger event is getting underway! Local residents are encouraged to place a bag of food out by their mail box for their letter carrier to return to the West Texas Food Bank.

Residents will start receiving Stamp Out Hunger Bags in the mail by the end of the week.

If you do not receive a branded Stamp Out Hunger Bag, don’t worry, you can use a bag of your own.

Residents are encouraged to donate nonperishable food items, and are asked to please not donate anything in a glass container. Glass containers can break and become a safety issue, not to mention if the food inside is spilled, it can create a giant mess!

The National Association of Letter Carriers is excited to host the nation’s largest food drive on Saturday May 12th - TOMORROW. This is the 26th year for the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive, which is always held the Saturday before Mother’s Day.

The West Texas Food Bank is appreciative of the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive, and looks forward to working with the many volunteers it takes to pull this food drive off.

If you leave a bag out for your letter carrier and it is not picked up, you may take it to your local post office, or bring it to the West Texas Food Bank.

A post event food truck rally is planned at the offices of Sims and Guess Realtors. From 5-8 food trucks and jumpers will be available. The WTFB will be on hand collecting food as well.
