SAN ANGELO, TEXAS - Southern gospel quartet The Embers has traversed the nation for concerts, hosted performances with four Dove Award-winning groups, recorded more than half a dozen albums and backed up singer BJ Thomas on “Amazing Grace.” But after 37 years, the group is calling it quits and will perform its last concert at 7 p.m. Saturday at Johnson Street Church of Christ. ...
